This film takes a powerful look at the daily struggle of the indigenous peoples of the Brazilian Amazon rainforest against the overexploitation of their world.
The indigenous activist Puyr Tembé and the forest ranger Marçal Guajajara become guardians of the forest they inherited from their ancestors. They defend themselves against illegal invaders who are trying by the thousands to exploit mineral resources and cut down ancient trees in order to export them to rich countries for profit. Their opponents can also be seen, such as one of the illegal loggers and a large landowner.
The film reminds us that the supposed profiteers could soon be among the losers, because without the rainforest in the Amazon basin, all of humanity will most likely be lost.
