Until now, only characters in novels and feature films could communicate with the dead. But today, this no longer seems to be a mystery fantasy, but a real option - thanks to so-called artificial intelligence such as ChatGPT.

In their documentary "Eternal You - From the End of Finitude", the two directors visit start-up companies that create avatars of the deceased. They tell amusing and also disturbing stories of encounters with the "undead" without exaggerating the somewhat strange offer or putting it in the corner of "problematic and dangerous".

The film raises controversial questions: Do we really want to realize everything that is technically feasible? What effects do current developments have on people, and who takes responsibility for consequences that cannot yet be estimated? A film that encourages us to think about the role of technology in our lives and our relationship to death.
